Hi friends! I’m super excited to share with you that my third book, Because I Love You, is now available! Not only is it available via e-book, but it’s also an audiobook. Huge shout out to Leslie Chou, who designed the cover, and Jay Woodward of Sierra Nevada Records, who produced and recorded the audiobook. Seriously could not have done this without you guys…
Which leads me to another huge thing I’ve learned in year 24… and something I’m continuing to learn. We need each other. I used to hate needing others – and I think I lived like I didn’t need anyone for far too long. Like, I appreciated having people around, but I would just leave when I was ready to, without really considering how it might impact others – or perhaps just not understanding. Which is not to say that we shouldn’t follow God – and sometimes that means staying and sometimes that means going… but always, I’m learning, we need to consider the interests of others higher than our own. So, even if I might not feel emotional in one circumstance, if someone else is hurting – it matters. God does not value efficiency more highly than people. Jesus’ priority was always the will of God, which entails a passionate pursuit of God’s people to the glory of God. All that to say…
“For no matter how significant you are, it is only because of what you are a part of…
The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance.
You are Christ’s body—that’s who you are! You must never forget this…” -1 Corinthians 12:19-31, MSG
