“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
- Lamentations 3:22-23
I started writing again after having my sweet little girl about a year and a half ago. I wanted so badly to keep my eyes on the Lord rather than myself and my own worries, anxieties, and fears. Writing a little each day was a part of that.
One thing that my daughter has taught me is the beauty of simple, concise, true, to the point communication. I just don’t have time to explain my thoughts and analyze every email I send anymore. My time is all over the place – unpredictably busy – and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But, that also means I don’t have a ton of time for reading the Word and journaling. Things I used to do a lot. It’s about quality, not quantity right? I hope so. I guess it’s more about God’s grace and ability to use crumbs to nourish my soul.
All that to say, Nineteen Words is filled with short, imperfect snippets. Probably some typos and very few cool – scratch that – no word art graphics that are Pinterest worthy. It was stretching for a recovering perfectionist like myself, but my hope is to focus on what’s truly important – the message, the heart.
Hope it’s encouraging to you. Thank you for stopping by! -Katie
