“Love does no wrong to anyone. That’s why it fully satisfies all of God’s requirements. It is the only law you need.”
I was going to try to do an upbeat post as I realized that most of writing has a “my life is a struggle” undertone to it. But… my life is a struggle :) Nah, there is a lot of joy in it but of course there are things that are hard, and writing is how I process those hard things. Apparently joy is easier for me to process:) Talk to me in person if you want some of that goodness:)
The current processing is about people pleasing and the struggle to be confident in my choices – even when others may not agree. This is a daily life struggle, not a one time this thing happened and someone disagreed with me thing. I hate disappointing people. I always want their approval… and why stop there? I really want their praise, and probably some applause…. So when that doesn’t come, I can feel lost. Where is my validation? And then there is some sadness, a feeling of rejection can follow suit.
Thankfully, the Lord is helping me to get to the root of this ugly cycle.
I need to be confident in Him. (which means I need to be walking with Him, talking with Him daily.)
And if I am, then I can be confident in his plan for me. (which means I don’t need to fear what others think.)
And I can love them freely despite their approval or disapproval. (which means I can live freely.)
I can love.
Thank you to our soldiers and veterans for being an amazing example of love by laying down your lives. There’s no greater love than that. John 15:13
